All Classes: I Will Not Allow . . .
All Classes: Rockaway Plate Lunch
All Classes: Zen Pencils & “Sympathy for the Devil”
I’ve posted links to Zen Pencils recently and will probably continue to do so as long as he keeps producing thoughtful, beautiful stuff like this.
“All cruelty springs from weakness.” — Seneca
Consider how appropriate this fits into most any content we’ve discussed as of late in your class.
AP Lit, consider True Grit, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Frankenstein, and more.
9 CPI and Humanities, consider tolerance and To Kill a Mockingbird.
PACE, consider Macbeth.
All Classes: Koyczan & “To This Day” at TED
Shane Koyczan delivered his “To This Day” poem at TED this month as part of a larger presentation.
Adam Mordecai over at Upworthy.com posted it along with a great little time stamp play-by-play.
All Classes: Clint Smith’s “Aristotle”
Mr. Hodum met this teacher from Maryland at the ECET2 conference in San Diego. (Clint Smith has a Tumblr but I know Tumblogs are bl-OCK-ed from student viewing.)
Thoughts?
All Classes: Chris Hadfield’s “An Astronaut’s Advice”
Zen Pencils does amazing work. You all owe it to yourselves to check it out and read just comic after comic of brilliant thinking and gorgeous art.
This one was just posted today and I thought it perfect for what we’ve been talking about in Humanities, PACE, 9 CPI and even AP Lit.
All Classes: To This Day Project by Shane Koyczan
Bullies called him “Pork Chop.”
All Classes: Skill Exchange video premiere
A friend in San Francisco shared this video on Facebook.
How amazing would it be to get something like this going at Mt. Blue Campus? Or in the greater Farmington community? Or even just in a single class?
He provided me with some contact information and knows the woman behind it it all. Would anyone be interested seeing if she’d talk with students at MBC?
